Levin Watson was born before 1755 per the 1800 census. I dont know where he was born, nor who his parents were.

He wasnt listed anywhere in North Carolina for the 1790 census. I did find a man of this name in Johnston Co., NC and another in Worcester Co., MD in 1790. The one in MD was still there in 1800 so clearly not the same one in Bladen in 1800. The one in Johnston in 1790 was no longer there in 1800. Did he move to Bladen? It is certainly possible, but far from proven. Levin of Johnston was next door to a James Watson (1-0-3-0-0) and a few houses from Obadiah Watson (1-1-2-0-0), Ephraim Watson (1-2-2-0-0) and Solomon Watson (1-0-3-0-0).

1790 Johnston Co., NC pg 476 Levin Watson 1-3-3-0-0
Analysis:
1 Male(s) 16 and Up (before 1774) Levin Watson (bef 1774)
3 Males under 16 (1774-1790) 1-Son?
                                      2-Son?
                                      3-Son?
3 Females (no ages) (before 1790) 1-Mrs. Watson (bef 1790)
                                      2-Daughter?
                                      3-Daughter?

The 1800 census for Bladen shows Levin Watson in Capt. Locks District. He is listed next to William Watson, a possible brother of his, or perhaps an older son. If this is the same Levin from 1790 Johnston, then most of his children were gone from his home by 1800.

I found a Levin Watson on the 1810 census in Anson Co., NC. His age matches, but I dont know if this is the same person or not. That Levin had slaves, and children old enough to have been listed back in 1800 but who werent.

Moving to 1830 there is a Levin Watson in Chesterfield Dist., SC who is in his 70s (born 1750/60) which fits. There are others listed elsewhere that year too, but they are all too young. There was no one named Levin Watson (or similar) in Anson Co., NC that year.

1 female 5-9 (1820-1825) Daughter?

I didnt find Levin Watson on the 1840 census.

Is Levin Watson (1750/60) of Chesterfield Dist., SC the same man who was in Anson Co., NC in 1820 and 1810? Im thinking so, but Im not totally sure. Then of course the question is Levin of Anson & Chesterfield the same man in Bladen before that? More research is needed, but a gut feeling tells me that Levin of Anson and Chesterfield are one and the same, but not the same person who was in Bladen. I could be wrong.

Children of Levin Watson. Levin Watson had several children per the 1790 and 1800 census, and the man in 1810, 1820 and 1830 censuses had several more children. I dont know who any of them are. The 1850 census of Chesterfield Dist., SC shows several potential sons for this Levin Watson, all born in NC.

1.      Unknown Son (1774-1784)

Unknown Son (1774/84). Levin Watson had an apparent son this age with him in 1800, aged 16-25 (1774/84).
