Solomon Watson was born before ca 1768 since he was
listed on the 1784 tax list, and had to be at least 16 to
be listed. I dont know who his parents were.
Solomon Watson was listed on the 1784 tax list in Bladen Co., NC with no land, one white and no blacks. He was in Capt. Barnes district. Luke Watson was listed in that district too, relationship unknown. Luke Watson owned land in the section of Bladen that became Robeson County in 1786, so Im guessing that Solomon also lived in that district since they were in the same tax district in 1784. Lukes land was south of Ashpole Swamp which puts it right close to the South Carolina line (now Dillon County, but then Georgetown District). I found a Solomon Watson on the 1790 census in Georgetown Dist., SC. It is probably the same person who was in Bladen in 1784. 1790 census analysis (based on available evidence): (Explanation of this census) 1790 Georgetown District, Prince George Parish, SC pg 56 Solomon Watson 2-2-6-0-0 Analysis: 2 Male 16+ (bef 1774) 1-Solomon Watson (bef 1768) 2-Son? 2 males under 16 (1774-1790) 1-Son? 2-Son? 6 females (bef 1790) 1-Mrs. Watson 2-Daughter? 3-Daughter? 4-Daughter? 5-Daughter? 6-Daughter? I wasnt able to find Solomon Watson on the 1800 census. He may have died by then. It appears he probably was in the section of Georgetown District that became Marion District in 1798 and Dillon County in 1910. |
Children of Solomon Watson. Nothing is known of his children, though the 1790 census shows several. |
