BOBBIE JEAN BYRD STANFORD
Bobbie Jean Byrd Stanford, 85, passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at MUSC in Florence, surrounded by her loving family. A funeral service will be held Saturday, December 31 at 1:00 PM at Richardson Funeral Home, burial will follow at the Watson Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The service will be lived streamed on the Richardson Funeral Home (Marion, SC) Facebook page for those unable to attend. Face masks are always available for anyone that wishes to wear one.
Mrs. Stanford was born in Marion County, a daughter of the late Raymond H. and Tula Collins Hardy. She is also preceded in death by her first husband, Leon C. Byrd; a son, Leon C. Byrd, Jr.; both daughter Karen Christmas and her husband Carl Christmas; and sister, Carolyn H. Allen. Mrs. Stanford was a seamstress, working many years for Sun Fun Sportswear and Blumenthal Mills. She was also a member of Woodmen Life and Resurrection Life Church. Mrs. Bobbie loved her family, often cooking for large crowds of them. She ran the food pantry at Marion Church of God for many years.
Surviving are her husband, Clyde R. Stanford; daughters, Sharon B. Humphrey (husband Glenn) of Pelion, SC, Twila Carter (Jimmy) and Sherry Stone all of Summerville, SC; son, Lonnie W. Stanford of Goose Creek, SC; sisters Joyce Ann H Sawyer (husband the late Zack Sawyer) of Conway, SC and Hope H. Hall (husband Marvin) of Gaston, SC; brothers, Jerry L Hardy of the Zion Community (Marion, SC), Raymond H. Hardy (wife Carolyn B) of Lugoff, SC; grandchildren: Brett Carter, Leslie Beckham, Dave Bradley, Shelley Stone, Ethan Christmas and Jonathan Christmas (Stacey); and great-grandchildren: Carter Beckham, Merritt Beckham, Kyle Bradley, Jacob Bradley, Brody Brown, Charleigh Grace Christmas and Temple Grace Carter.
