Notes |
- !MARRIAGE:I have found no marriage record for John Miller & Mary Cross, but a journal written by their grandson Noah Miller records their names and her maiden name as being Cross. Based on various tidbits of data it would seem they married in Pennsylvania or perhaps Virginia.;
!CHILDREN:No will or estate records have been found that name John and Mary's heirs. However various records show close associations among several Millers who appear to be John and Mary's children. Their son Joseph is proven by the journal of his son Noah Miller. Daughter Sarah is proven by her death notice at her church.
A deed dated 13 Aug 1819 shows Joseph Miller and Peter Miller selling land on Sandy Mush Creek that John Miller formerly lived on. This suggests they inherited it from him, thus proving them as his children. David Miller's corner is mentioned, suggesting he is also a son.
1. John Miller. I have no proof at all that John is part of this family.
2. David H. Miller (c1784 PA). See 1819 deed and other records associating him with Joseph and Jacob Miller.
3. Jacob Miller. Jacob was associated with David in Macon Co., NC and Buncombe.
4. Joseph Miller. Joseph is proven by the journal of his son Noah.
5. Sarah Miller. Sarah is proven by her death record at the Cowee church.
6. Peter Miller. See 1819 deed.
7. Elizabeth Miller. No record of Elizabeth Miller. Others list her as a child, but with no additional information on her such as who she married.
