Diskin Grant acquired a copy of "The Young Mill-Wright and Miller's Guide",
by Oliver Evans. This book was published in 1829. The name "William M.
Grant" is crossed out in the front, followed by Diskin's name, and the date
January 10, 1833. He may have acquired the book from his brother William on
that date. Diskin wrote his marriage and first child's birth date in the
front of the book (1833 and 1834). He crossed this out, and wrote all his
children's birthdates, and his second marriage, in the back of the book. He
may have done this following his second marriage in 1844.
