- In the Columbia County, Georgia Wills Book H, 1803-1821, I found the following will for Robert George [shared by Elaine Luke]
13 Feb 1814. I, Robert George, being weak in body, but of sound mind & memory. First I desire all my just debts to be paid from my personal estate. I give unto my brother Jordan George, two notes of $2,000 each given by Daniel Low to William Low & one $500 note given by Grimes Nicholson to Greenwood, also one note of $40 given by Charles Hanes to him & his heirs forever, subject to a deduction in the hands of my executor of $1,000 to raise a fund for the support of my brother James George. I give my brother James George the sum of $1,000 to be vested in bank stock & the proceeds annually drawn and paid to the support of my brother James George. I give unto my beloved Fanny Carr & her son Thomas Low one tract of land lying in Richmond County, containing 200 acres whereon Booker Tindal formally lived, known as the Bay Spring. I give unto Dr. Cleghorn my cream colored horse, harness & sulkey. My two colts & eight head of cattle to be sold. I appoint Col. Thomas Carr my executor. Wit: Samuel RAmsey, John J. Bealle, Nancy Beale & Polly N. ramsey. Signed Robert George. Proved on oath of Samuel Ramsey, John J. Beale, Polly N. Ramsey this 7 March 1814. This day Thomas carr was qualifed as executor
