Notes - !NOTES:Listed by many as a son of George Cathey (Sr) (1735), but that is incorrect. There is plenty of evidence that George Cathey (1755-1840) of Cooper Co., MO is that son instead of George (1784) of Marshall Co., TN. There is no doubt George (1784) is connected to them though, for he married George Sr's granddaughter, presumably a cousin of his.
It is *highly* likely that George (1784) is a son of Hugh Cathey. They were listed next to each other on the 1812 Bedford tax list. Further, Hugh's wife was Jane Bailey. George's oldest daughter was "Jane Baily Cathey." Coincidence? Not likely;
