"The Wright family is of Irish descent. The first immigrant of the Wrights in America settled in the State of KY for a period. Later the family migrated to near present Oxford, N.C., then to Surry Co. To Aran Wright was born a son by name of James."
- The above is reasonably accurate as far as can be determined. Aaron Wright did live in KY for awhile. He did go to Surry after KY (and was there before moving to KY too).
- I've found no evidence of an Oxford, NC (Granville County) connection. There were Wrights there, so perhaps they are related somehow;
!NOTES:Aaron Wright was from Ireland according to Family Tradition. However, it seems more likely he was born in North Carolina. Perhaps his parents were from Ireland instead. His son James S. Wright was listed on the 1880 and 1900 census and in both cases listed his father as being born in NC.
!NOTES:Birth ca 1765/1771 per 1810 census age 26-44 (1765/84) and his 1792 marriage bond. He had to be at least 21 to marry without parental consent. That means he was born ca 1771 or before. Those two records combine to give ca 1765/1771 as likely birth range;
!NOTES:What is Aaron Wright's relationship to David Riggs? They were listed together on three records (1785, 1792 and 1795). David's wife Miriam is allegedly a daughter of Hezekiah Wright. How does Aaron connect to that family? His birth pre-dates David and Miriam's children by just a couple of years, perhaps he is Miriam's child by a previous marriage (or out of wedlock) and David Riggs is his step-father. More evidence is needed;
