Why is that? Is it possible her father was a Farley and that Mr. Farley and Mary's mother (also named Mary) were not married? If so, legally her name would be Mitchell as that was the mother's name at the time of her birth, but some of the children may refer to her by her father's surname if known, though not her legal name.;
