!NAMED:Obit:GEORGETOWN | Lydia Turner Altman, 78, died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2002, at Franke Home at Seaside Healthcare in Mount Pleasant.
She was born Dec. 15, 1923, at Centenary in Marion County, a daughter of the late William Monroe Turner and Annie Lambert Turner.
She grew up in Marion County and graduated from Centenary High School. She moved to Georgetown in 1943. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. She served her church as an active member of the United Lutheran Church Women and taught Sunday school for many years. She was retired from Nations Bank.
Survivors include her husband, Rothie B. Altman Jr. of Georgetown; three sons, Ron L. Altman of Mount Pleasant, Wayne B. Altman and Jeffrey O. Altman both of Georgetown; two sisters, Bonnie T. Altman of Georgetown and Eva T. Rogers of Marion; two brothers, David E. Turner of Litchfield Beach and Bill J. Turner of San Jose, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Mayer Funeral Home, Georgetown Chapel.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Rev. Maria Perez will officiate. Burial will be in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens
!OBIT:MARION -Mrs. Eva Ines Rogers, 90, died Sunday, January 2, 2005, in Columbia
after an illness. Funeral services at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 6, at
Richardson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Shiloh United
Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends, Wednesday,
January 5, from 7:00-9:00 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Rogers was born in Marion, a daughter of the late Willie Turner and
Annie Lambert Turner. She is also predeceased by her husband Joe Rogers, two
sons, Samuel Rogers and Allen Rogers. Mrs. Rogers was a homemaker and a
member of Friendship Baptist Church.
She is survived by sons, Dan Rogers (Sally) of Folsom, CA, Sidney Rogers of
Lake Wales, FL, David Rogers (Jeanette) of Gresham and Warren Rogers of
Mooresville, NC; daughters, Anne Lane (Warren) of Columbia, SC, Bobbi J.
James (Robert) of Lake Wales, Fl, Gloria Persons (Robert) of Fayetteville,
NC, Judy Allen (Larry) of Norwood, NC, Gail Duckett (Rick) of Mooresville,
NC, Betty Joe Rogers of Gresham, SC, Cherry Sherwood (Patrick) of
Mooresville, NC; a daughter-in-law, Rose Beckham; a brother, David Turner of
Litchfield Beach, SC; a sister, Bonnie Turner Altman of Georgetown, SC; 22
grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lutheran Hospice, 1505 Blanding
St., Columbia, SC 29201
