A. J. Campbell, one of the oldest Confederate veterans in the county died Tuesday, October 8, and was buried Wednesday at 11 o'clock at Mt. Zion.
Mr. Campbell fought in the War Between the States and if he had lived until the 9th day of November he would have been 85 years old. Besides his wife, who before marriage was Miss Martha Biggs, he is survived by two sons, Geo. N. and J. H. Campbell of Little Rock; four daughters, Mrs. J. F. Graham, Dillon, Mrs. W.H. Hubbard, Little Rock; Mrs. Tom Carter, Hamer, Mrs. J. F. Martin, Fayetteville, and about one hundred grandchidren and great-grand children.
