She was a native of Cherokee County, daughter of the late Monroe and Martha Wiggins Hooper, wife of the late Claude B. Stewart, member of South Gastonia Pentecostal Holiness Church. SURVIVORS: Daughter, Beatrice Patterson, Gastonia; sister, Betty Strickland, Virginia; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren. PRECEDED IN DEATH BY: Sons, Edward and Melvin Stewart; sister, Pauline Himebaugh. FUNERAL: 2 p.m. Tuesday, South Gastonia Pentecostal Holiness Church, Rev.
