Perhaps he was named for a person named Terry H in Culpeper/Buckingham/Washington/Scott Co., VA? Or, it's possible he was named for someone of the Terry family which is a known surname in Virginia;

* Assuming he was already in Washington Co., VA at this time, only two Hensley households here in 1810 had apparent sons his age. He would have been 13. Fielding Hensley had a son in that age group, but I don't think it's Terry.
William Hensley had a son in that age group. He is the more likely suspect, I think, but I can't prove he is indeed Terry's father;
