It rises in NW Scotland County and flows southerly, acting as the county line with present day Richmond for some distance, It passes just east of the town of Laurel Hill and continues southerly to the state line crossing into Marlboro Co., SC just east of McColl, then joins Beaverdam Creek to become the Little Pee Dee River.;

!NOTES:Leith Creek rises in present day Scotland County north of Laurinburg, then runs SW through the town, then southerly crossing the SW corner of Robeson Co., NC then entering Dillon Co., SC where it joins the Little Pee Dee. Back in the 1770's Scotland was part of Anson County until 1779, then part of Richmond after that. Robeson was part of Bladen until 1779. Dillon was part of Marion Dist., SC until 1910.;
