- Mr. Haralson's obituary appeared in the Tyler Courier Times Telegraph, Sunday, March 14, 1965:
"Lindale - Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. today for Meck Haralson, 95, of 1210 W. 6th St, Tyler, in the Antioch Baptist Church with the Rev. Albert Dusek and Norman Davis officiating. Burial will be in Sand Flat Cemetery. Services will be under the direction of Caudle Funeral Home. Mr. Haralson was a native of Mississippi but had lived in Texas since the age of 21. He was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Barbara [Kennedy] Haralson of Tyler; one son, J. A. Haralson of Tyler; three daughters, Mrs. Beulah Johnson and Mrs. Paul Cook both of Tyler; Mrs. Angus Wells of Lindale; one stepson, Truitt Wilson of Tyler; four stepdaughters, Mrs. Amilee Burnett, Mrs. Mittie Breedlove, both of Tyler, Mrs. Rebecca Yakel of Kansas, Mrs. Winnie Mae Wilson, Mahair; one sister, Mrs. Janie Roberts, Lindale; 14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Pallbearers will be L. R. Coulter, James Coulter, Weldon Lyles, Dude Wright, J. D. McKenzie and Jack Matthews. The body will lie in state at the church until one hour prior to the service time."

RK Note: Winnie Mae Wilson is shown as being from or living in Mahair. I have been unable to locate any place in Texas with that name. I am wondering if this should have been Mexia.
