- I (Marty Grant) don't know how (or if) I'm related to the John Barnes family. I am very interested in him though.
James Barnes was born ca 1775/1794, whereabouts unknown, possibly in SC.
John Barnes was not listed on the 1811 nor the 1814 tax list in Marion Dist, SC.
John was listed on the 1820 census. Unfortunately, this census was alphabetical, so we can't tell where he lived, nor who his neighbors were.
