My 4 g-grandfather, Jonathan Cribb, Sr [abt 1741-bef 1815] was born Georgtown, SC. He and family are found in 1790 in Georgetown, SC. He received land in 1797 in Brunswick, NC [later Columbus]. He is found in 1800 and 1810 in Columbus, NC. On 13 May 1815 his heirs signed their interest in the land to Abraham Reynolds. Jonathan, Sr's heirs: Jonathan, Jr [my-3-gg, he and family moved to GA] Thomas, Anthony, Elizabeth Williamson, Amelia Messer, and Selah Cribb. No minors or widow listed.
I have a copy of Andre's Cribb File and I have now visited your site. Neither of these sources recognize Jonathan, Sr as a part of the Cribb family. Note: Your Anthony Cribb 1785 m Courtney Reynolds [Runnels] in Columbus Co, NC and found in 1810 in same county and area. I believe this to be my Jonathan Sr's son as Anthony and siblings signed their interest in land to Abraham Reynolds. Point of interest: Abraham Reynolds bought NC land owned in part by Anthony Cribb [wife Courtney Reynolds]. Does not sound like your Anthony of John. I became lengthy; please forgive.
Thanks,
Judy Cribb Tripp Annis
