!NOTES:Isabella "Groce" was about 51 when she married Edward Carter. It might be safe to assume she was a widow and that Gross wasn't her maiden name. Then again, perhaps she'd never married prior to then. If she's a Gross by birth, she *might* be connected to Thomas Gross (1750/60) of Haywood and Macon Co., NC, or if not, perhaps to the Gross family of Rutherford Co., NC. I haven't looked into this very much.
