!OBITUARY:
Coy Lee Campbell, 90, of Marion, SC, passed away at home on August 2, 2024, following an illness. Mr. Campbell was born in Marion, SC, in 1934, a son of the late Atlee Burke Campbell and Elizabeth Bessie Rouse.
Mr. Campbell was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Rosenfeldt Campbell, and his brothers, Howard, French, Aubrey, Lauren Stanley, R.C., Joe, and Earl Campbell. He was a proud veteran who served his country in the U.S. Army. After his service, he worked as a mechanic and was known as a man of all trades.
He is survived by his daughter, Pamela Campbell Gainey, and his son, Coy Lee Campbell Jr., both of Marion; his sister, Ara Belle Koechig of Pennsylvania; and his five grandchildren, Crystal Lee Beckstrand (Joseph), Falicia Nealy (Harvey), Joey Gainey, Lacy Gainey, and Cody Campbell. He also leaves behind his cherished great-grandchildren, Deanna Nealy, Jordan Nealy, Kaylee Beckstrand, Hayden Beckstrand, Bentley Miller, Journi Gainey, and Cheyenne, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members and friends who loved him dearly.
Coy Lee loved the outdoors and watching NASCAR. He was always waiting for his Sunday drive with his nephew, Bobby Campbell. He touched so many hearts and will be missed dearly.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 9, 2024 at Richardson Funeral, private burial will follow at Palmetto Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 at the funeral home. The service will be streamed live on the Richardson Funeral Home (Marion, SC) Facebook page.
