!OBIT:Graham Star Thursday, February 26, 2009 9:01 AM CST Aloe Carpenter, 99, of the Hares Creek community of Robbinsville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, Feb. 23, 2009 at Britthaven of Graham.
She was a native of Graham County and the daughter of the late William Riley Phillips and Florence Rich Phillips. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William Hardy Carpenter in July of 1963; infant son, Harold Carpenter; brother, Theodore Phillips; sisters, Bertha Taylor, May Rogers, Audra Taylor, Maude Colvard, Clara Phillips and Minnie Phillips.
She is survived by her sons and their wives, Virges and Izetta Carpenter, Clinton and Linda Carpenter, Avery and Wanda Carpenter, David and Charlona Carpenter all of Robbinsville and Bluford and Beatrice Carpenter of Marble; daughters and their husbands, Betty and Harold Crisp, Mary and Rayburn Rogers, all of Robbinsville, and Alwayne Gee of Buffalo Junction, Va.; 21 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and 19 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, Feb. 26 at the Townson-Smith chapel with Revs. Donald Colvard, David Anderson, her grandson Rev. Gary Crisp, and her great-grandson Titus Crisp officiating. Burial will be in the Old Mother Cemetery. The family received friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday at the chapel.
