I (Marty Grant) am not related to David George as far as I know, but I am very interested in this family.
Note: The George family is fully documented in the author's book "George Family History" now available. Click link for details. On the current web pages I am only presenting the most interesting documentation. There is a great deal more available that is not included here. Most of the available source documentation is in the book mentioned above. There are also many acknowledgments to be made. The book contains them all. Some are listed here.
David George was born ca 1650, presumably in Virginia. I base his birth year on his first child being born in 1671, and assuming that David was at least 21 then (though he could have been only 18, making his birth around ca 1653). I have no proof, or any strong evidence, regarding David's possible parents.
David George appears to be related to my Col. John George family, but I haven't yet determined how. He may be more closely related to the Nicholas George family since the name "David" was used in that family alot. David's son David George Jr (born 1673) received a patent of land in Middlesex Co, VA bordering land of my ancestor Robert George (born 1666) (grandson of Col. John George).
It is not totally inconceivable that David Sr and my Robert George Sr were brothers, both sons of Isaac George. Isaac didn't leave a Will, but he was born in 1635, and David George Sr was born at least as early as 1650, so it seems unlikely that they are father and son, but if David were born ca 1653, Isaac would have been old enough to be his father. So that leaves David George Sr's parents as a mystery. Pat Lundy suggests that he is a son of one of the Nicholas George's, which could be the case, though he wasn't named in the Will of Nicholas Geoge I (Will 1661) or Nicholas II (Will 1700).
In the Christ Church Parish Register (Middlesex Co, VA), the children of David and Mary were recorded:
"The age of 3 children of David and Mary George Viz: Alice George was borne the 4th Xambr 1671. David George was borne the 12th of ffebruary 1673. John George was borne the 6th of July 1675"
David George died prior to 6 Oct 1679 in Middlesex Co, VA, for on that date, a deed was made between John Buford to David George (under 21) son of David George, deceased, and to his siblings John George and Alice George, for land on south side of Briery Branch. (Middlesex Co, VA Order Book 1 page 193).
I don't know when Mary, wife of David George, died. I have in my notes that she married Thomas Buford as a 2nd husband, after the death of David George. I can't find a source for this right now.
David and Mary --- George had three children, as proven by the Christ Church Parish Records.
Alice George was born 4 Dec 1671 in Middlesex Co, VA, as proven by the Christ Church Parish records.
Alice George married Henry Osborne on 15 May 1688 in Middlesex Co, VA (Christ Church Parish Register)
At least one child was born to them (in 1689) per the Parish records, then they are not listed any more. They may have left the county after 1689.
David George was born 12 Feb 1672/73 in Middlesex Co, VA. (Christ Church Parish Register)
On 6 Oct 1679 John Buford deeded land to David George (under 21) son of David George, deceased, and to his siblings John George and Alice George, for land on south side of Briery Branch. (Middlesex Co, VA Order Book 1 page 193).
David George married Catherine --- prior to 1703, in Middlesex Co, VA. I have no clues as to her maiden name. Their marriage was not listed in the Christ Church Parish records, though her name was mentioned as his wife for several of their children.
On 23 Oct 1703, David George received an 80 acre patent for land beginning by the Church Road, corner of Robert George, and adjoining lands of Nicholas West, deceased, and William Gardner. (Virginia Patents Book 9 page 546).
The above deed shows that Robert George (my ancestor) and David George were neighbors. This strongly suggest that they were closely related, but does not prove it.
David George was listed on the 1704 Quit Rent list in Middlesex Co, VA with 150 acres.
On 17 Apr 1714, David George (signed with a mark of "D") and others were ordered to appraise the estate of Mary Davis. (Middlesex Co, VA Will Book Abstracts pages 12-13)
On 7 Mar 1715/16, David George and others returned the inventory of the estate of Edward More. (Middlesex Co, VA Will Book Abstracts pages 47)

Catherine --- George, wife of David, died on 26 Sep 1718, and was buried on 28 Sep 1718 in Middlesex Co, VA. (Christ Church Parish Register)

On 2 Dec 1720, David George and John George (his son) and Joseph Hardee, witnessed the Will of John Pace Sr. (Middlesex Co, VA Will Book Abstracts pages 173-174)
On 1 Apr 1721, David George and others returned the inventory of John Pace. (Middlesex Co, VA Will Book Abstracts pages 197-201)
On 26 Jul 1721, David George and others, returned the inventory of George Freston, deceased. (Middlesex Co, VA Will Book Abstracts pages 218-220)
On 6 Feb 1721/22 David George and others returned the inventory of Thomas Chowning. (Middlesex Co, VA Will Book Abstracts pages 239-241)
David George made his Will on 28 Nov 1723 in Middlesex Co, VA. He named his sons John George, Harry George (listed as "Hally" in parish records), and James George and his daughter Jeane. Jeane is probably the same as Joanna named in the Parish records. Sons John, Harry and James were Executors. The Will was proven on 7 Mar 1726/27.
David George died on 19 Dec 1726, and was buried on 21 Dec 1726 in Middlesex Co, VA. (Christ Church Parish Register)
David and Catherine George had the births and / or baptisms of five children recorded in the Christ Church Parish register. They had one other child (James) who was not named in those records, but was named in his Will.
John George was born 6 Jul 1675 in Middlesex Co, VA (Christ Church Parish Register).
John George died on 29 Mar 1687 in Middlesex Co, VA, only 11 years old. (Christ Church Parish Register)
