Solomon Hensley was born ca 1778/79 per his age on the 1850
census (71). He was born somewhere in Virginia (per 1850 census),
county unknown. I don't know who his parents were. Solomon Hensley married Elizabeth (---) before ca 1820, probably even before 1810, place unknown. Elizabeth was born ca 1780/81 in Virginia (both per 1850 census). I don't know her maiden name. I didn't find Solomon Hensley on the 1810 census. He was probably already in Cabell County by then, but that census is lost. Solomon is listed on the 1820 census in Cabell Co., VA. There is a Washington Hensley age 19 with the family in 1850. That isn't their son, but I don't know who he is exactly. William H. Hensley was born ca 1819/20
per his age on the 1850 census (30), 1860 (40) and 1870 (50). He was
with his parents on each of those records. I wasn't able to find him
in 1880.
He seems to be with his parents back in 1820 aged under 10 (1810/20), and with them in 1830 aged 5-9 (1820/25), and with them in 1840 age 20-29 (1810/20). |

Elisha Hensley was born ca 1822/23 per his
age on the 1850 census. He seems to be with his parents in 1830 aged
5-9 (1820/25), but he may or may not be home in 1840 aged 15-19
(1820/25). There is only one male that age home in 1840, and both he
and brother Solomon (c1825) fit that age group.
He was with his parents in 1850 ("Elisha" age 27). Elisha Hensley married Mania Ann (---) before ca 1856, presumably in Wayne Co., VA (now WV). I didn't find a marriage record, but the births of two of their children are record in Wayne County, one in 1856, the other in 1857. They are listed on the 1860 and 1870 census in Adams Co., OH, and in 1880 in Lawrence Co., OH. |

his age on the 1850 census. He seems to be with his parents in 1830
aged 5-9 (1820/25), but he may or may not be home in 1840 aged 15-19
(1820/25). There is only one male that age home in 1840, and both he
and brother Elisha (c1823) fit that age group.
He was with his parents in 1850 ("Solomon" age 25). He was head of household in 1860 with his mother and brother William with him. He is listed as head of household in 1870 with his mother and brother William still with him. There is a Eugenia (c1845) and Catherine (c1852) living with them. I don't know who they are.
Solomon Hensley married Rebecca Pully between 1870 and 1873 presumably in Wayne Co., WV. Her maiden name is given on the birth records of some of their children. They are listed on the 1880 census in Wayne.
