I (Marty Grant) am not related to Thomas Henslee as far as I know.
Special thanks to Cindy Stamps for data shared on this family.
This family used the "Henslee" spelling most often, though some records were with the "Hensley" or other spellings. See "Hensley Spellings" for a commentary on this subject.
Thomas Henslee was born ca 1780/84 per various census records. In 1810 he was 26-44 (born ca 1765/84). In 1820, Thomas was age 26-44, or born ca 1775/94. In 1830 he was age 40-49, or born ca 1780/90. These three census records reconcile to a birth date of ca 1780/84. He was born in Caswell County, North Carolina.
Thomas Henslee is a proven child of John Henslee (bef 1755) and Rachel Cantrell, as named in John's Will dated 1816, and also proven by an 1811 deed of gift.
Thomas was probably home with his parents for the State Census taken 1786 in Caswell County. His father John Henslee had 3 apparent sons "under 21" with him for that census, though two of them were certainly Mackfield (c1778) and Richard (1775), and the third was most likely Thomas (1780/84).
The 1790 census is lost for Caswell County, but Thomas was certainly home with his parents that year.
Thomas seems to be home with his parents for the 1800 census. He would have been between 16 and 20 years old then, so he should be enumerated in the 16-25 age category (born ca 1774/84). John had two sons 16-25, one of which might be Thomas.
On 18 Nov 1805, Thomas Henslee obtained a marriage bond in Caswell County to marry Lois Bush. Zns Bush was the bondsman. ("Zns" stands for Zenas, per Cindy Stamps, and she says he was Lois' half-brother). They were married sometime later for the 9 Dec 1805 edition of the Raleigh Register newspaper showed that they married on the 22nd Ult (of last month, meaning November). Lois Bush was born ca 1786/87 (per 1850 census) presumably in Caswell County, North Carolina. Her father may be Joseph Bush as she inherited from his estate.
For the 1810 census, Thomas was head of household in Caswell County.

On 27 Feb 1811, Nathan William sold Thomas Henslee 75 acres on Stoney Creek. Witnesses were John Pennix and John Simmons. (Caswell Co, NC Deed Book Q page 236, shared with me by Laura Schreibman)
On 7 Mar 1811, John Henslee deeded 30 acres on Stoney Creek to his son Thomas Henslee "for love and affection". Witnesses were John Pennix, Jere Lea, and William Smith. (Caswell Co, NC Deed Book Q page 249, shared with me by Laura Schreibman)
In 1814 (Proven October 1814 Court), the Estate of Joseph Bush was divided among heirs including Thomas Henslee. I assume this is Lois' father. (Caswell Co, NC Deed Book R page 166, shared with me by Laura Schreibman)
I don't see a date on this record (probably after October 1814) but Thomas Henslee sold land drawn by his wife Lois from the estate of Joseph Bush, deceased (I assume this is her father, though it could be an unmarried brother). (Caswell Co, NC Deed Book S page 35, shared with me by Laura Schreibman)
Thomas Henslee was named as a son in his father's Will dated 20 Mar 1816. (Caswell Co, NC Will Book G page 301, shared with me by Laura Schreibman)
On 2 Apr 1816, Thomas Henslee was bondsman for the marriage of his brother John Henslee to Matilda Kemp in Caswell County.
On 21 Oct 1816, several of the heirs of John Henslee deeded their interest in their father's land to Buford Pleasant (their brother-in-law). The heirs were Richard Henslee, William Henslee, John Henslee, and Sally Henslee, all of Caswell County. The deed was witnessed by Thomas Garner, Micajah Pleasant, Joseph Benton and Thomas Henslee. (Caswell Co, NC Deed Book R page 443, shared with me by Laura Schreibman)
Thomas Henslee was listed on the 1820 census in Caswell County. This census was alphabetical, so there is no way to see who his neighbors were.

Thomas Henslee died sometime between 1830 and 1840, presumably in Caswell County, North Carolina.
Lois was not listed on the 1840 census, but I think she was residing in the household of which her son Thomas Henslee was head. Someone about her age was there, and several of her other children seemed to be there also.

In the late 1840's, Lois and several of her children and their families left North Carolina and moved west to Greene County, Missouri.
Lois Hensley was listed twice on the 1850 census in Greene County, Missouri. The first time as head of her own household next door to son Thomas, and secondly living with her son Bedford Hensley. Both listings are given below.

I have no data on Lois after 1850. I did not find her on the 1860 census in Greene County. She may have died during this timeframe, or re-married or moved away (or all of the above).
Thomas and Lois had several children per the various census records. Of these I am certain of Bedford, Thomas and Mary, the rest are unidentified, or tentatively identified based on circumstantial evidence.
Bedford W. Hensley was born ca 1808/09 in Caswell Co, NC. The proof of him being Thomas and Lois' child is that Lois was residing with him in 1850, and he also fits very well circumstantially. He was probably home with his parents in 1810 (age "under 10", born ca 1800/10), and he was seemingly home in 1820 (age 10-15, born ca 1804/10), and still home in 1830 (age 20-29, born ca 1800/10).
Bedford married Lucinda Stamps in 1833 in Caswell Co, NC. See their own page for additional information.
Unknown Son (1810/15). Thomas Henslee had an apparent son this age. He was home in 1820 (age "under 10", born ca 1810/20), and still home in 1830 (age 15-19, born ca 1810/15). He may be with his brother Bedford in 1840, for Bedford had an "extra" male with him that year age 20-29, born ca 1810/20) which is a perfect fit.
I feel this may be Henderson Hensley (c1815) who was near the rest of this family in 1850 Greene Co, MO. He first age-wise, and he and his oldest children were born in North Carolina and he seemed to go to Greene County at the same time as his mother and siblings. See his own page for more on him.
Unknown Daughter (1810/15). Thomas Henslee had an apparent daughter this age. She was home in 1820 (age "under 10", born ca 1810/20), and still home in 1830 (age 15-19, born ca 1810/15).
This daughter probably married (or died) sometime after 1830. I have no suspects for this daughter yet. There were several Henslee females who married in Caswell County in the 1830's and 1840's who are yet unidentified.

Thomas Hensley was born ca 1817/18 in Caswell Co, NC. The proof of him being Thomas and Lois' child is that Lois seems to be residing with him in 1840, and she was living next to him in 1850, and he also fits very well circumstantially. He seems to be home with his parents in 1820 (age "under 10", born ca 1810/20), and still seems to be home in 1830 (age 10-14, born ca 1815/20).
He was listed as head of household on the 1840 census though he was not yet married. He seems to have his mother and younger sisters residing with him.

Thomas married Elizabeth B. Melton in 1842 in Caswell Co, NC. See their own page for additional information.
Unknown Daughter (1820/25). Thomas Henslee had an apparent daughter this age. She was home in 1830 (age 5-9, born ca 1820/25), and seems to be with brother Thomas in 1840 (age 15-19, born ca 1820/25).
She probably married someone in the 1840-1850 timeframe, before the family moved to Greene County, Missouri.
One suspect is Artelia Henslee (c1823) who married John H. Caynor in 1847 Caswell, and by 1850 was in Greene Co, MO near other members of the Thomas Henslee family. She fits age-wise and is clearly related, though whether or not a daughter, I can't say.
One suspect is Sarah Henslee (c1826) who married Aquilla Barton in 1842 Caswell, and by 1850 was in Greene Co, MO near other members of the Thomas Henslee family. She fits age-wise and is clearly related, though whether or not a daughter, I can't say for sure. Another researcher gave Sarah's birth date as 1818, which would exclude her from this 1820-25 age group, but she could still be part of this family, as there is an unknown daughter 1815/20 (see above).
Mary Hensley was born ca 1834/35 (per 1850 census) in Caswell County, North Carolina. She seems to be with brother Thomas in 1840 (age 5-9, born ca 1830/35). She was (like mother) listed twice on the 1850 census. She was with her mother in the first listing, as "Mary" age 15, born NC. Listed as "Deaf and Dumb". She was also listed with her brother Bedford Hensley (and her mother also), as "Mary" age 16, born NC, and Deaf and Dumb.
I have no additional data on Mary.
