I (Marty Grant) am not related to Wickham Watson as far as I know.

Wickham Watson was born ca 1814/15 (per 1850 census) or probably earlier than that based on his 1830 and 1840 census entries which gives ages showing a birth ca 1800/10. He was apparently born in Marion District, SC (per 1850 census).

Sellers stated that Wickham Watson was a son of Needham Watson (bef 1765). I've not seen any direct evidence proving this, but it seems to be accurate. Needham did have an otherwise unidentified son Wickham's age, and Wickham did name one of his kids "Needham".

Sellers mentioned that Wickham lived in the Temperance Hill region of Marion County.

I did not find Wickham's father Needham Watson listed on the 1820 census, but presumably, Wickham would have been home with Needham for that census.

Wickham was listed as head of household on the 1830 census in Marion District. I don't think he was married yet by then, though he had several other people with him. I can't be sure, but perhaps those are his widowed mother, and some younger siblings. It is also possible that he was married prior to 1830. Unfortunately this census is alphabetical, so I can't tell who his neighbors were.

Wickham Watson married Mary Ann --- before ca 1838. She was born ca 1821/22. I don't know her maiden name.

Wickham Watson was listed on the 1840 census in Marion District just two houses from Kinion Watson (c1798), possibly an older brother. He was listed next door to Martha Watson Dorman, a daughter of Barnabas Watson.

Wickham and family were listed on the 1850 census in Marion District. He was next door to Alexander Lane (1787), and not too many houses from Kinion Watson (c1797).

Wickham Watson died before 14 Jan 1856, for on that date his widow Mrs. Mary Ann Watson applied for letters of Administration. Unfortunately his Probate records do not contain any list of heirs. (Probate Roll # 947 1/2, published in "Probate Records, Marion County, South Carolina Volume Two", by Lucille Utley, Danny Smith, 1985).

I did not find Mary Ann Watson nor any of the children (except Noah) in the 1860 census in Marion. Noah was there living with a McKinly family, relationship unknown.

Children

Wickham and Mary had five children per the 1850 census. The 1840 census seems to show two more (a son and daughter both born ca 1835/40). Sellers mentioned only one son "Kerigan Watson", but he was not with the family in 1850, so perhaps born between 1850 and 1856.
