I (Marty Grant) am not related to Kinion Watson as far as I know.
Kinion Watson was born ca 1797/98 per his 1850 census entry which gave his age as 52. His age varied widely from census to census, so I'm not sure when he was born. His 1850 census age agrees with his 1830 census age of 30-39 (born ca 1790/1800), but his 1840 census age was 20-29, or born ca 1810/20. In 1860 he was 59, or born ca 1800/01, and in 1870 he was 65 or born ca 1804/05. Perhaps he didn't know his exact age. He was born in Marion District per the 1850 census.
I don't know who Kinion's parents were, but I suspect he was a son of Needham Watson (bef 1765), but I have no direct evidence for that. He did live near Needham's son Wickham Watson (c1815), so that is my primary reason for suspecting he was also Needham's son.
It will be difficult to do census analysis for Kinion's possibly early locations (1800, 1810 and 1820), since I don't know his exact birth date, however, I will attempt it. The results are not particularly enlightening. In 1800, assuming he was born yet, he would have been "under 10", (born ca 1790/1800). In Marion there were only two Watsons listed in 1800 with an apparent son that age: William Watson, and Sease Book Watson (who according to other researchers had no son named Kinion). Needham Watson was not in Marion that year, nor found elsewhere.
For the 1810 census, Kinion could have been listed in the "under 10" age group (born ca 1800/10), or in the 10-15 age group (born ca 1794/1800). Sease Book Watson had two boys under 10, and one 10-15, but like I said before, Kinion is probably not his son. Barnabas Watson had a boy under 10, but his estate records do not mention Kinion. Needham Watson (bef 1765) was listed twice (or else there were two men named Needham Watson in Marion that year). In one listing he had 5 boys under 10 with him, in the other listing, he had one.
For the 1820 census, Kinion could have been enumerated in the 16-25 age group (born ca 1794/1804), and possibly in others instead, though this one seems best suited. Sease Book Watson was the only one listed with a son that age. Needham Watson was not found in 1820.
Kinion Watson may have married someone (name unknown) in the 1820's, for he was listed on the 1830 census as head of household consisting of him, and a female age 20-29 (born ca 1800/10), who was presumably his wife. There were no children, so either they had just married, or this wasn't his wife, but perhaps a sister instead. Unfortunately, this census was alphabetical, so I can't tell who their neighbors were, nor where they might have been living.

Assuming that the woman with him in 1830 was his wife, she must have died before ca 1836, for thereabouts, Kinion married Nancy Ann ---. Nancy was born ca 1824/25 in Marion District. I don't know her maiden name.
In 1840, Kinion was listed on the 1840 census in Marion District. He was listed two houses from his possible brother Wickham Watson (1815) and listed between Martha Dorman (daughter of Barnabas Watson) and Alexander Lane. Kinion's age was way off, so this census entry would seem to be suspect, so probably given by a neighbor or else the census taker just wrote it down wrong.

Kinion and family were listed on the 1850 census in Marion District. They were about 12 houses from Wickham Watson (c1815), and just four houses from Martha Dorman (daughter of Barnabas Watson).

In 1860, Kinion and family were still in Marion District. They were not listed near any other Watson families this time around, though Isham Watson (1787) was about 20 households away.

Kinion Watson seems to have died in the 1860-1870 time period.
Nancy and two of their children are listed on the 1870 census in Marion County in Moody Township, with a Dicey Watson (c1805) as head of household. This could be a sister of Kinion, or perhaps it is Kinion himself if this census entry is in error.

I didn't find Nancy or her younger daughters on the 1880 census, though I did find son John in Moody Township just a few houses from a Nicey Watson age 60, listed as single, and by herself. Could "Nicey" in 1880 be the same person as "Dicey" in 1870?
Kinion and Nancy had 8 children as proven by the various census records. I have only found a little additional data on the sons, John who lived in Moody Township, and the two other sons (Quinn and Lindsay) who both died in the Civil War.
