I don't know where he was born, though probably Virginia or that part of Virginia that is now West Virginia.

I don't know who his parents are. He is probably related to Robert, Daniel, William, etc. of Logan Co., WV, but I don't know how they connect exactly.

Comfort is not listed on the 1820 census anywhere as far as I could find. He is probably home with his parents at that time.

Comfort Hensley is not listed on the 1824 tax list in Logan Co., VA which shows he wasn't of age yet (not yet 16) or else not in the county yet.

Comfort is listed on the 1827 tax list in Logan as are several other Hensleys.

I didn't find Comfort Hensley on the 1830 census. Though he was over 16 in 1827, he probably wasn't married yet by 1830 so he is likely still home with his parents. However, none of the Hensleys in Logan County at that time had an apparent son in his age group. It is notable that Robert Hensley is missing in 1830. He could be Comfort's father.

Comfort Hensley is listed on the 1833 tax list in Logan Co., VA and taxed for one male over 16. He had no slaves and no horses.

Comfort was not listed on the 1835 or 1837 tax lists in Logan, nor on the 1840 census as far as I could find. An apparent widow Mary "Polly" Hensley first appeared on the list in 1837. She could be his widow. She did name one of her sons "Comfort" so that could be meaningful. However, certain evidence suggests that Mary was a single mother and not a widow, but that is open for debate.
