I (Marty Grant) am not related to Lewis L. Hensley as far as I know.

Lewis L. Hensley was born ca 1827/28 (per 1850 census) in Tennessee, probably in Hickman County (now Lewis County) where he was living later on. I'm not sure what his middle initial of "L" stands for.  It is possible that Lewis was a twin to George W. Hensley who had the exact same age in 1850, but later records for George show him consistently older than Lewis, so I doubt they are twins.

Lewis L. Hensley is a son of Larkin Hensley (1779) and Margaret Hinson and was named in Larkin's 1865 Will as his son "Lewis L. Hensley".

In 1830, Lewis would have been about 2 years old.  Larkin Hensley had three apparent sons aged "under 5" (born ca 1825/30), one of them was probably Lewis.

In 1840, Larkin Hensley had three apparent sons age 10-14 (born ca 1825/30), one of them probably Lewis who would have been about 12 years old then.

On 11 Mar 1850, "Lewis L. Hensley" married "Also M. Goodman (Alsamenia Goodman) in Lewis Co, TN, married by his Uncle James Higgins, Justice of the Peace. Alsamenia was born ca 1827/28 in Tennessee. I don't know her parents yet.

Lewis L. Hensley and family were listed on the 1850 census in Lewis County, Tennessee. They were not listed near any other Hensleys, though the county was full of them in 1850.

In 1860, Lewis and family were still in Lewis County, and listed next door to brother Jobe Hensley (c1823) and next to Larkin T. Hensley (c1832), either his brother, or nephew.
