I (Marty Grant) don't know how I'm related to Henry Jenkins, but I'm sure he is somehow closely related to my ancestor Osborne Jenkins (c1803).
Henry Jenkins was born ca 1732 or earlier, based on his appearing on public record dated 1753 and assuming he was at least 21 then. On 19 Jan 1753 he was a witness to a deed. He also appeared on a 1750 deed where he was deeded property by his father, but there was no minimum age to be deeded land, so I can't use that record to calculate a possible birth date. The 1800 census record for Henry shows him aged 45 and up, or born before 1755.
Henry Jenkins was presumably born in Onslow Precinct, North Carolina, though it should be noted that Onslow was not formed until 1734. Prior to that it was still part of New Hanover Precinct. ("Precincts" became "Counties" in 1739). New Hanover was formed in 1729 from Craven Precinct, so his "technical" place of birth depends on his actual birth date, though it seems likely he was born in what is now Onslow County, NC.
Henry is a proven son of Lewis Jenkins and Isabella ---. This Lewis was the first of that name in Onslow County.
At some point in the mid 1700's, there may have been two different Henry Jenkins in Onslow, for I found one record listing a Henry Jenkins "Jr". However, out of the numerous records found for Henry, only this one had the "Jr", so I'm not sure whether or not there really were two Henrys, or whether or not all the records below are for just one man.
Henry Jenkins is mentioned several times in the early Onslow County Court Minutes. I have not copied those records yet.
On 20 Dec 1750, Lewis Jenkins deeded a Negro named Hannah to his daughter Isabella Jenkins, and also deeded something to "my sons" Henry Jenkins and Lewis Jenkins. This deed proves that Henry is a son of Lewis Jenkins Sr. (Onslow Co, NC Deed Book C page 51, from Records of Onslow County, North Carolina, Vol I by Zae Harget Gwynn, and all subsequent deeds cited on this page are from this book or Vol II).
On 19 Jan 1753, Henry Jenkins and Lewis Jenkins (don't know if this is his father or brother) witnessed a deed from John Phillips to Nathaniel Averitt. (Onslow Co, NC Deed Book D page 7).
It was probably in this general time-frame (early 1750's) that Henry Jenkins married Elizabeth ---. I've found no record of her maiden name.
On 6 Jun 1753, Henry Jenkins and Lewis Jenkins (brother or father?) witnessed a deed from Thomas Shelton to Philemon Morris. (Onslow Co, NC Deed Book D page 10).
On 17 Jun 1754, Henry Jenkins and Lewis Jenkins (brother or father?) witnessed a deed from Nathaniel Averitt to Joseph Barns (or Burns). (Onslow Co, NC Deed Book D page 24).
On 25 Oct 1754 a muster list was taken of Militia members in John Starkey's company commanded by Captain Thomas Hicks. Henry Jenkins was listed as was George Jenkins, Lewis Jenkins (Henry's brother) and William Jenkins.
On 30 Nov 1754 , Henry Jenkins and Lewis Jenkins (brother or father?) witnessed a deed from Jeremiah Barns to Philemon Morris. (Onslow Co, NC Deed Book D page 36).
On 12 Dec 1754, Henry Jenkins and Lewis Jenkins (brother or father?) witnessed a deed from Samuel Hall to John Averitt. (Onslow Co, NC Deed Book D page 36).
On 10 Jun 1756, Lewis Jenkins Sr and wife Isabella deeded land to "my sons" Lewis Jenkins Jr and Henry Jenkins. The land was described as 120 acres on New River to Henry, "where I now Live", and also two negroes. Also two negroes to Lewis. Lewis Jenkins Sr and Isabella Jenkins, mother and father of Henry and Lewis to live on land for their lifetimes. Witnesses were Robert Simpson, Elizabeth Lee, and Sarah Simpson. (Onslow Co, NC Deed Book E page 14).
On 10 Sep 1756, Lewis Jenkins Sr and wife Isabella deeded property to their daughter Elizabeth King, wife of William King, to be effective after Lewis and Isabella's deaths. Witnesses were John Thorougood and Henry Jenkins Jr. (This is the only record I've seen showing Henry as a "Jr". I have to wonder if this was a typo on my part, or on the original transcribers part, or if this does indicate there were two Henry Jenkins in Onslow at this time?). (Onslow Co, NC Deed Book E page 17).
On 29 Jul 1756, Henry Jenkins and Francis Thorowgood and John Thorowgood witnessed a deed from John Averitt to Lewis Jenkins Sr (Henry's father). (Onslow Co, NC Deed Book E page 18).
On 23 Sep 1756, Henry Jenkins and Lewis Jenkins Sr (his father) witnessed a deed from Horotio James to Luke Bond. (Onslow Co, NC Deed Book E page 20).
On 2 Sep 1757, Lewis Jenkins Jr (Henry's brother) sold him 50 acres on the Southwest Side of New River on Warrens Creek. This deed appeared to be a land swap, for on the same date, Henry sold Lewis some land for the same price (25 pounds) (see below). Witnesses were Joseph Loyd and John Averitt. (Onslow Co, NC Deed Book E page 29).
On the same date (2 Sep 1757), Henry Jenkins sold Lewis Jenkins Jr (his brother), 120 acres "whereon my father now lives", being the same land his father Lewis Jenkins Sr gave to me on 10 Jun 1756. Witnesses were Joseph Loyd and John Averitt. (Onslow Co, NC Deed Book E page 29/30).
On 10 Oct 1757, Henry Jenkins, Lewis Jenkins Jr (brother) and Lewis Jenkins Sr (father) witnessed a deed from Andrew Fullwood to Thomas Brown. (Onslow Co, NC Deed Book E page 36).
On 13 Jun 1758, Henry Jenkins deeded land to Lewis Jenkins Jr (brother), being 50 acres on Southwest side of New River on Warren's Creek. Witnessed by John Campbell. (Onslow Co, NC Deed Book E page 41).
The above deed seems to represent another land swap between brothers, for on the same date (13 Jun 1758) and for the same price (40 pounds), Lewis Jenkins Jr sold Henry Jenkins 120 acres, part of a tract "where my father now lives". Witnessed by John Campbell. (Onslow Co, NC Deed Book E page 41).
On 17 Jul 1758, Henry Jenkins was deeded land by Adam Brinson, being 110 acres on the North Side of Southwest Branch of New River. The deed states that Lewis Jenkins Sr and wife Izabella, father and mother of Henry Jenkins are to enjoy the land for their natural lives, but after that to Henry Jenkins. Witnesses were Avy Lester and John Evans. The wording of this deed makes me believe that Adam Brinson is a brother-in-law of Henry Jenkins selling him land he was deeded from Lewis and Isabella Jenkins, but that is not entirely clear. (Onslow Co, NC Deed Book E page 42).
On 26 Aug 1758, Henry Jenkins and Phillemon Morris witnessed a deed from Peter Lee to George Brown. (Onslow Co, NC Deed Book E page 42).
On 23 Sep 1760, Henry Jenkins and Lewis Jenkins Sr (father) witnessed a deed from William Finsinger to Philip Aman. (Onslow Co, NC Deed Book F page 12).
In November 1760, Henry Jenkins deeded 110 acres to Stephen Herrington. Witnesses were Thomas Spoll and George Brinson. (Onslow Co, NC Deed Book F page 20).
On 25 Feb 1762, Lewis Jenkins Jr (brother) sold Henry Jenkins 50 acres. Witnesses were Joseph Enet and George Simmons. (Onslow Co, NC Deed Book F page 39).
On 25 Jul 1763 Henry's father Lewis Jenkins Sr made his Will in Onslow County and named his son Henry Jenkins, and also made Henry Jenkins his executor. (Onslow Co, NC Will Book 2 page 89).
On 12 Mar 1765, Henry Jenkins and Lewis Jenkins Jr (brother) witnessed a deed from George Brinson to Jethrow Rogers. (Onslow Co, NC Deed Book H page 8).
On 3 Sep 1765 Banester Lester deeded property to Henry Jenkins. (Onslow Co, NC Deed Book H page 12).
In September 1766, Henry Jenkins and Ezekiel Hunter witnessed a deed from William Lester to Banester Lester. (Onslow Co, NC Deed Book H page 38).
On 16 Jan 1768, Andrew Fullwood deeded 200 acres to Henry Jenkins, the land was on Stump Sound on Goose Creek. (Onslow Co, NC Deed Book H page 69).
On 20 Sep 1768 Henry Jenkins deeded 180 acres to Joseph Smith. Witnesses were Thomas Bryan and Aaron Prescot. (Onslow Co, NC Deed Book H page 81).
Henry Jenkins was listed on the 1769 Tax list in Onslow County.
I don't have any records for Henry for several years after 1769, but that is easily explained by the American Revolution (1775-1783) which certainly cause a lot of turmoil, particularly in the coastal regions.
On 4 Jan 1785, Stephen Middleton sold Henry Jenkins 100 acres. Witnesses were Joshua Jenkins (possibly Henry's son) and Andrew Fullwood. (Onslow Co, NC Deed Book N page 45).
Henry Jenkins was listed on the 1786 state census in Onslow County.

On 17 Jun 1786, Henry Jenkins sold 200 acres to John King. The land was on Stump Sound, Fork of Goose Creek, being the same land Henry bought of Andrew Fullwood. Witnesses were John Spicer Jr and John Dixon. (Onslow Co, NC Deed Book O page 21).
I did not find Henry Jenkins listed on the 1790 census. Several other Jenkins were "missing" who should have been listed, so either a section of the census is lost, or the census taker didn't do a good job that year.
On 12 Mar 1792 Henry Jenkins Sr sold 100 acres to Hosy Howard. Witnesses were Benjamin Beasley and Thomas Watom. This deed shows Henry as "Sr" so that means there was probably a younger Henry Jenkins around then who was over 21, so Henry felt the need to distinguish himself. (Onslow Co, NC Deed Book R page 56).
Elizabeth (---) Jenkins must have died prior to 1800 for Henry Jenkins was listed on that census alone. Henry Jenkins was on the 1800 census in Onslow. He was next door to John Jenkins (1770/74), a possible son.

The 1800 census is the last record I have for Henry Jenkins, so he probably died shortly after that. At his age, it seems unlikely that he moved away, though it is possible. I had in my notes that he died ca "August 1810", but I don't know what the source for that is. I did not find a Will or Estate record for Henry.
Henry Jenkins and wife had a large number of children with them as of the 1786 census. None of his children are positively identified, though I suspect that Joshua Jenkins (c1756) was his son, for he witnessed one of Henry's deeds in 1785. There are other Jenkins who could be Henry's children, though I have no hard evidence to connect them to him. All of these other children (listed below) were with Henry in 1786, but gone by 1800.
