Isham Edwards was born ca 1774/84 based on census analysis. His only census entry (that I know of) shows him in 1810 as age 16-25, or born ca 1774/84. Combining this with the compatible children in John Edwards' household in 1790 and 1800, I figure he must be born ca 1774/84. He was born in Wayne County, North Carolina.

Isham Edwards a proven child of John Edwards, and was named in his father's Will of 1810.

Isham is one of those names that can be spelled multiple ways, most notably: Isham, Isam, and Isom. I don't know which way is "correct" in this case.

Isham was apparently home with his parents for the 1790 census, listed in the "under 16" age group (born ca 1774/90).

Isham seems to have been home with John Edwards for the 1800 census, aged 16-25 (born ca 1774/84).

Isham Edwards married someone in the 1800-1810 period. I have not yet found a record of his wife's name.

On 13 May 1801 John Edwards deeded land to my son Isom Edwards "for Natural Love and affection". Witnessed by John Miles and Arthur Fulghum. (Wayne Co, NC Deed Book 7 page 134).

On the same date (13 May 1801), Isom Edwards and A. Fulghum witnessed a deed from John Edwards (his father) to John Miles, son of Winifred Miles (John Miles is Isham's half brother). (Wayne Co, NC Deed Book 7 page 155).

On the next day (14 May 1801), Isom Edwards, John Miles and A. Fulghum witnessed a deed from John Edwards (Isham's father) to Winifred Miles and Britin Miles. (Wayne Co, NC Deed Book 7 page 135).

On 9 Feb 1805, Isham Edwards and Arthur Fulghum witnessed a deed from John Edwards Sr (father) to Richard Edwards (Isham's brother). (Wayne Co, NC Deed Book 8 page 167).

On 29 May 1806 Isham Edwards and P. Jernigan witnessed a deed from John Edwards (father) to Sampson Edwards (brother). (Wayne Co, NC Deed Book 10 page 355).

Isham was listed on the 1810 census in Wayne County. He was listed in the midst of several Edwards, namely his brothers Sampson Edwards, David Edwards, James Edwards and Ambrose Edwards, and nephew Stephen Edwards.  He was listed between James and Stephen.

Isham's father John Edwards made his Will on 1 Aug 1810 in Wayne County, and named "my son Ishom Edwards" and left him Fifty dollars.

On 24 Aug 1816 Isham Edwards deeded property to Joseph Everitt. Witnesses were Britton Hood and John Cox. (Wayne Co, NC Deed Book 11 page 78).

On 28 Oct 1817 Isham Edwards "of Wayne" Co, NC deeded property to Joseph Everitt Sr. Witnesses were John Cox and Andrew Masse. (Wayne Co, NC Deed Book 11 page 80).

I have not found any record for Isham Edwards more recent than this 1817 deed selling out his Wayne County land. I would assume he moved away from the area or possibly died around then.

Working on the assumption that he moved away, I did find that there were many Isham Edwards in other counties and other states in 1820, 1830, etc. At present I have no idea which of these might be the same Isham Edwards.

For example, using the 1850 census index, I found 8 men named "Isham Edwards", 3 named "Isam", 5 named "Isom". Of these 16 men, I didn't find one that seemed like he could be this same Isham from Wayne Co, NC.
