John Johnson Rose (c1816) and Rebecca Hensley (c1820-c1852/60) * John J. Rose and Rebecca Hensley were married in 1836 in Macon Co, NC. They remained in Macon until ca 1844 when they moved to the Unaka area (Beaverdam township) of Cherokee County. I haven't found a connection yet, but it seems likely that Rebecca is related to the Benjamin Hensley family of Burke, McDowell and Cherokee Co, NC. I don't have any records of any other Hensley's in Macon co, NC in the 1836 timeframe, so what was Rebecca doing there? Had her family moved there briefly, then moved on to somewhere else? Rebecca Hensley died in the 1850's and during that same time frame, John J. Rose married again. *

Samuel B. C. Wilson (c1804-1850/60) and Elizabeth Hensley (c1807). * Samuel and Margaret were both born in Yancey (then Buncombe), and moved to Macon Co, NC in the 1840's. She may be a sister to Margaret Hensley Wild who lived nearby in Macon County. *
John Wild (1792-1863) and Margaret Hensley (1799-1886) * John and Margaret were both born in Buncombe County, and probably married there (probably in the section that later became Yancey), and moved to Macon Co, NC in the 1820's. I don't know who Margaret's parents were, nor have I seen any direct proof she was a Hensley (though I don't doubt it is true). She may be a sister to Elizabeth Hensley Wilson, who lived nearby. *
John Johnson Rose (c1816) and Rebecca Hensley (c1820-c1852/60) * John J. Rose and Rebecca Hensley were married in 1836 in Macon Co, NC.
